Social Responsibility - Picabeen Community Centre - Wilko Painting

Each member of our team plays an active part in the Brisbane community. We are involved in sporting, cultural and community events and each of us strives to contribute to the community’s progress in our own, unique way.

We genuinely care about what is happening locally and strive to give back to the community on a regular basis. Wilko Painting has recently committed to repainting the Picabeen Community Centre in Mitchelton free of charge. The centre has been in the news recently and is in desperate need of funds to remain open. It is run by volunteers and serves the local community in many different ways such as free counselling, English classes, young parents group and wellness groups.

We also sponsor the Brisbane British Club which is a community group with over 1600 active members (mainly British expats who arrive in Brisbane and want to meet people and share experiences).

Wilko Painting takes great pride in fostering a supportive and collaborative business culture and we are constantly striving to develop our skills and abilities, as individuals and as a team.

Social Responsibility - Orange Sky Laundry - Wilko Painting

Orange Sky Laundry is a wonderful Brisbane based charity that offers a free mobile laundry and shower service for the homeless.

Wilko Painting, along with a few other painting companies, volunteered to help out Orange Sky Laundry with an external paint project in September 2017. It was great to help out a charity that gives so much back to the Brisbane community, we hope to help them again in the future.

Wilko Painting is committed to being a safe, socially responsible and environmentally sustainable business. We understand the importance of Workplace Health & Safety for our employees, contractors and the general public and ensure that best practices are maintained in accordance with the state’s Occupational Health & Safety Act and associated regulations, compliance codes and Australian Standards.

We have developed and implemented an Environmental Management System (EMS) for the management of environmental impacts resulting from our day to day business. Our EMS follows all guidelines and recommendations and strives to exceed the AS/NZ3211:2009 and AS4361.2:1998 standards.

All staff receive training in our stringent environmental approach and are expected to comply with the environmental policy at all times.

We only use Dulux Envirowash Solutions to clean our equipment and reduce our environmental impact.
